WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE BLUE BOA 42”, BLUE BOA 48”, AND BLUE BOA DE ADAPTERS?
The Blue Boa 42” and 48” are identical except in length. They both attach to the high volume suction at one end, and work in conjunction with the Orsing Hygoformic and Otis Formeject saliva ejectors at the other end. These saliva ejectors are low profile, comfortable, and very easy to manipulate into a bend that will make them hands free. If you have struggled with a traditional ¼” saliva ejector, we highly recommend these two saliva ejectors along with the Blue Boa 42” and Blue Boa 48”.
The Blue Boa DE works in conjunction with a traditional ¼” saliva ejector & the suction mirror. The DE can also work with Orsing hygoformics with an adapter. One end fits on the high volume suction, while the other end accommodates a standard saliva ejector or suction mirror. The bend we use for the Otis Formeject (see our website video) will also work for the 1/4” saliva ejector. You just have to be careful not to bend the saliva ejector so tight that it kinks.
WHAT IS THE LIFESPAN OF THE BLUE BOA?
The lifespan of the Blue Boa adapter is 3-5 years, depending on how often it is used. We provide a one year warranty against defects and workmanship. The Blue Boa adapter is very durable. You can expect it to last as long or longer than your ultrasonic insert.
HOW DO I CLEAN THE BLUE BOA?
The recommended cleaning procedure is to flush with water after each use. Then place the tubing in a steam sterilizer or autoclave on any setting. The Blue Boa adapter is very durable. Not only will it withstand extremely high temperatures, but you can expect your Blue Boa adapter to last as long or longer than an ultrasonic insert.
IS THE BLUE BOA AUTOCLAVABLE?
Yes the Blue Boa adapter is fully autoclavable. It is heat and chemical resistant and can be sterilized in any dental sterilizer and on any setting.
DO I NEED TO STERILIZE THE BLUE BOA BETWEEN PATIENTS?
Yes, we recommend that you sterilize between patients. The Blue Boa is heat and chemical resistant and will not break down faster when sterilized. You can sterilize in any dental sterilizer and on any setting. It also holds up well in a Statim for a quick turnaround.
HOW MANY BLUE BOA ADAPTERS DOES MY OFFICE NEED?
Number purchased per office depends on three factors.
- How often do you sterilize your instruments?
- How often do you perform a procedure requiring the Blue Boa?
- How many clinicians are working?
For example, in an office with two hygienists working, seeing a total of 4 hygiene patients each in the morning, and sterilizing at lunchtime—they would need a total of 8 Blue Boa adapters. Eight Blue Boa’s would be used in the morning, sterilized during lunch and used again in the afternoon.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH SALIVA EJECTOR TO BUY WITH MY BLUE BOA 42” ADAPTER?
The Blue Boa adapter comes with six saliva ejectors. Three Otis Formeject and three Orsing Hygoformic saliva ejectors. That will allow you to have some hands on experience with each in order to determine which saliva ejector you prefer. We highly recommend viewing the video on the website in order to see instructions on how to bend saliva ejectors.
DO WE NEED A SPECIAL ADAPTER FOR THE BLUE BOA TO FIT ON THE LOW VOLUME SUCTION?
The Blue Boa will connect directly to your high volume suction head. If you want it to fit on the low suction, you can cut up a traditional saliva ejector into 1 inch increments. That will serve as an adapter to permit the Blue Boa to fit on the low suction as well.
CAN I USE A REGULAR SALIVA EJECTOR WITH THE BLUE BOA ADAPTER?
Yes we do have an adapter that will work in conjunction with the traditional 1/4” saliva ejector, Blue Boa DE. It is a bit more challenging bending the 1/4” saliva ejector into a configuration that will stay put hands free. However, the bend we use for the Otis Formeject (see our website video) will also work for the 1/4” saliva ejector. You just have to be careful not to bend the saliva ejector so tight that it kinks.
CAN YOU SEND OUR OFFICE A SAMPLE BLUE BOA TUBE?
Blue Boa suction adapter is made of a reusable medical grade tubing and can be sterilized after each use. Due to it’s non-disposable nature, we are unable to provide sample tubes.

Unopened items may be returned within 14 of purchase with a 25% restocking fee. Because these items come in contact with saliva, Blue Boa dental tubing, suction tips, and suction mirrors that have been used may not be returned.
